It's also probably worth mentioning that these mini-campaigns will all be absolutely free and included as free updates with the game. ![]() I know it's a bit vague, but feel free to sound off in the comments! The plan, at least as it stands now, is to make a few of these over the next few months, with each one exploring a new area of gameplay, and have them all tie together into a post-game story that compliments the main campaign. I should probably mention that in addition to making general improvements to the game, we're currently working on our first mini-campaign for Infinifactory, which takes place at the end of the main campaign and adds new mechanics, puzzles, and story in a neat little bundle. The previous open-ended thread is getting a little crowded, so I'll ask it here instead: what should we add next? Today's update makes it possible to record animated GIFs of factories where more than one instance of a product is made at a time ("parallel products") and vastly overhauls the hotbar to add, among other things, scrolling! Over the past two weeks we've pushed a handful of updates fixing lots of bugs and adding some of the "low-hanging" feature requests you've asked for. On the other hand this has changed how I play the game, in SpaceChem (and Infinifactory before reading this post), I usually spent some time optimizing each puzzle before going to the next one. It doesn't matter what it is, let me know what you think! From a purely technical point of view this seems good as it allows new gameplay in the earlier puzzles. ![]() ![]() Maybe there's a puzzle from the main campaign that you really enjoyed, or maybe you've got a new idea for a mechanic or a block that you think would make some great new puzzles. something big and exciting.Īs players who have probably played through all of the content available so far, what I need to know is what kind of puzzles you'd like to see in this final content update. The final campaign will let you use every block you've unlocked and will put your skills to the test as you assemble. To solve the puzzles, the gamer goes through numerous trials and makes lots of errors. Okay, it might not be the "final" update, but Infiniupdate #3 is going to be the last major update for Infinifactory, and is going to be the one that takes us out of Early Access and into a proper release.Ī major component of Infiniupdate #3 is going to be more puzzles - two campaigns worth, actually! The first campaign will introduce a few new tools that are powerful but not necessarily easier to use (kind of like how the laser compares to the eviscerator) that will allow you to build complex products, like those at the end of the main campaign, without the tedium that they typically incur. Infinifactory gives the gamer a chance to build graphics (GIF) for a piece of active machinery and share them with peers online once complete.
